Homework 11 Blog

I have taken this image from the July 2008 edition of the Commercial Arts Magazine advertising section. It is entitled "Dew Lords of the Deep" and was a limited edition printing of a Mountain Dew can. I was amazed at the detail and patterns. You really need to get a closer view than Blogger allows to see what I am talking about.

Homework 10 Blog

I have returned to photos and the things I would like to learn to do: stop action photography. These are two images illustrating stop action photography from the book Photography for the 21st Century by Katie Miller. I especially like the soccer picture as it shows so much intensity and focus. The kayak image is on page 52, the soccer image is on p. 178.

I found these images in the July 2008 Communication Arts Magazine on page 25 in the section on "Self Promotion." They are three postcards published by the illustrator Ofra Amit.

Homework 8 Blog

This is a print by Jonathan Barkat on page 167 of The Society of Illustrators 49th Annual of American Illustration. It was an advertisement image used by a pharmaceutical company to illustrate the constant pain of Fibromyalgia.

It fascinated me because of my farm background and the problems I had with my dad's barbwire fence and my horse. I had to unwind and cut him loose from it when he went crazy and tried to run through it. It hurts and scars.
